Pad Printing

Pad printing is a low cost, high quality decoration that allows highly detailed graphics to be printed on flat or contoured surfaces.  This decoration process is fast and tends to have lower per-part costs than other methods. Modern pad printers can allow for multiple images to be placed in multiple locations on your parts. The process begins with developing artwork specific to your injection molded plastic part geometry and etching this into a steel plate.  The plate is mated to an ink cup and then installed in the printer. As the cup slides on the plate, exposing the etched image, a shallow layer of ink is left in the etching. This ink is picked up by a pad and transferred to your custom molded part. Depending on the ink type, the image may air cure or may be placed in an ultra-violet oven for curing.  UV cured pad printed graphics are very durable and can last for years to come.
